It’s JP’s birthday, and he’s about to learn something new!
JP wakes up on his special day full of excitement. There are presents, laughter, and one gift that changes everything: his very first phone! With help from Mom, JP begins learning how to text. From saving family numbers to sending emojis, every step brings giggles, surprises, and lessons in patience.
But JP is also on the autism spectrum, and that makes his journey even more unique. He loves order, routines, and joyful moments with his family. Texting becomes more than just a birthday gift; it’s a way for JP to connect, express himself, and grow in confidence.

Author’s Note
As a mother and advocate, I created JP’s world to give children on the spectrum a character they can see themselves in while providing families a resource for conversation, connection, and joy. Happy Birthday, JP-JP Learns How to Text is more than a birthday story it’s a celebration of inclusion, love, and the little steps that make a big difference.
